Living Architecture
TS&P worked with Living Architecture from pre launch in 2009 through 2012. The company invited a series of established and emerging world-class architects to build houses around the UK. The houses are available to rent for holidays by the general public.
The inspiration for Living Architecture came from a desire for people to be able to experience what it is like to live, eat and sleep in a space designed by an outstanding architectural practice.
The houses we launched are:
• The Balancing Barn, MVRDV (the Netherlands) in Thorington, Suffolk. Launched in October 2010.
• The Shingle House, Nord Architecture (UK) in Dungeness, Kent. Launched in November 2010.
• The Dune House, Jarmund/Vigsnæs Architects (Norway) in Thorpeness, Suffolk. Launched in December 2010
• The Long House, Hopkins Architects (UK) in Cockthorpe, Norfolk. Launched in January 2012
• A Room for London, David Kohn Architects and Fiona Banner (UK), roof of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank. Launched in 2012.
Please see www.livingarchitectureblog.com to watch the progress on the houses.
