United Visual Artists (UVA) is an art and design practice based in London, creating work that lies at the intersection of sculpture, architecture, live performance and installation. Their work has been exhibited worldwide, including at the V&A, Royal Academy of Arts, the South Bank Centre, the Wellcome Collection, Opera North Leeds, Durham Cathedral, The British Library and has toured to cities including Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Barcelona. Their designs for live performance have led to commissions for venues such as TATE Modern Turbine Hall, the Serpentine Gallery and Madison Square Garden in New York, with public art works on permanent display in London, Bristol, Toronto and Istanbul.
UVA's latest work is ‘Fragment’, a site-specific piece for level Shoe District, the world’s largest luxury shoe store, located in Dubai Mall. Commissioned by level’s founders, the Chalhoub Group, and installed as part of Shed Design’s overall architectural concept for the store, it will hang in the treble height atrium, reflecting light by day and emitting light by night. The piece will be officially unveiled in March 2013 to coincide with Dubai Art Fair and the city's design fair, Design Days, at which UVA will be showing work.
