Filmmaker and artist Gerry Fox invites us to explore the labyrinthine rooms of a gothic palazzo to reach the heart of VENICE IN VENICE. 

Visitors wander the stairways, passages, courtyards, rooms and dungeons of Palazzo Soranzo-van Axel, the city’s most important private gothic palace (the last opportunity to see this beautiful building in its original state before it is turned into a hotel) to discover Fox’s filmed vignettes of Venetian life.  These are either projected onto screens in the rooms and halls, or directly onto the walls, so that we encounter them like vast paintings, bringing life to fifteen empty rooms in the faded grandeur of this building.
